From locomotives, transit, freight cars and engines, to tracks, signals and advanced technology, we ensure customers can count on us to meet their needs.Learn how we keep our customers rolling by following us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, and by visiting progressrail.com .Education / Training: Associate’s degree or higher in supply chain management, logistics or business administration and a minimum of 2 years of supply chain, purchasing and/or strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing setting; APICS CSCP or CPIM certification; 2-3 years procurement or strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing setting.Job Title:Supply Chain SpecialistCity:ShermanKey Job Elements: Ensure commodity strategies align to corporate goals and strategies; Communicate the sourcing strategies and ensure their compliance within the Supply Chain and cross functionally; Drive continuous improvement throughout the Supply Chain; Participate in the standardization of initiatives; Communicate the sourcing strategies and ensure their compliance; Identify risks and implement opportunities on current and future orders; Develop, analyze and maintain cost on assigned commodities; Cooperate with stakeholders to guarantee agreement on terms and processes; Support the operations on supplier performance issues and contract management; Monitor supplier efficiency and their continuous improvement based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); Maintain and communicate supplier ratings; Build contacts network internal and external; Develop and update sourcing strategies, benchmarks and market intelligence with active participation from engineering, procurement, operations and quality; Develop long-term agreements with selected strategic suppliers; Create purchasing leverage and synergies across sites; Support the administration of long-term agreements; Develop/manage key performance reports per commodity and supplier; Coordinate Supplier Development activities as required; Develop long term supplier relationships through regular performance reviews.Qualifications and Experience: Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; Sound knowledge of ERP or MRP systems; Detail oriented / sense of urgency / follow-through; Ability to multi-task, work independently and efficiently; Proven interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to communicate/deal with various vendors as required; Adapt to frequent changes in workload & priority as circumstances dictate; Experience sourcing with global supply of material; Good financial skills, cost analysis, demonstrated ability to analyze trends and statistical data.EEO:Equal Opportunity Employer – Race/Color/Sex/Religion/National Origin/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Vets/DisabilitiesBenefits:
