For information about the school visit theDepartment of History website (https://www.txst.edu/history.html) .Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school need. Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.This posting is for the fall 2024, spring 2025, and summer 2024/2025 semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.Required Qualifications
An MA or its equivalent in History or a related field, with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in the relevant field of history, is required by the time of appointment.
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the classroom.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD or its equivalent in History or a related field by the time of appointment.
For practice-related positions, preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate current and contemporary competence in professional practice or management, and significant years (normally more than five beyond entry level) of experience in a full-time industry, professional practice, or management capacity and potential for significant professional growth.
