Greenhouse Labor and Maintenance
IMMEDIATE HIRE:
Green Lake Nursery is looking for energetic people to come and work at our ever-expanding, family-owned wholesale greenhouse operation.
We are currently looking to fill various positions at several levels. There is plenty of opportunity to grow within our organization. We are legally a farm, so all Agriculture laws apply to our operation.
Job Description
General Greenhouse Work
Follow directions, dependable and hard working
Ability to work unsupervised and effectively and efficiently in a team setting
Satisfactory Attendance
Locate and prepares manholes
Excavates by hand and prepare land for greenhouse construction
Assist initial set up and cleanup of job sites which would include lifting, carrying and pulling items 50 lbs weight or more.
Erect steel posts and construct green house
Install PVC irrigation pipe throughout greenhouse and surrounding land
Install plastic sheeting over the top of greenhouse
Install black ground cloth
Spread and lay rock by hand in trench
Pushing wheel barrels of concrete to create sidewalks
Repairs/alterations to existing installations, and preventative maintenance
Be able to work in the elements
All employees must in compliance with all company guidelines and procedures
Any additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be eligible to work in the United States and 18 years of age (workers ages 16 and older may work at the facility based on school schedule, availability of non-hazardous job tasks, and written approval by a parent/guardian)
Must be able to work in all Greenhouse conditions including wet, humid, dusty, dirty, and extreme hot/cold temperatures.
Must be able to lift or move up to 40lbs and push/pull racks on wheels of up to 100lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
The job requires employees to be on their feet for long periods of time.
Job Type: Full-time, $15.00/hr to start

Schedule:
7:00 AM until 3 to 4 pm. Monday through Friday. Our summer work hours are from 6:30 until 3:00 PM. We rotate weekend days (Required, 2 days a month). Saturday is our make-up day due to inclement weather when needed.
Ability to commute/relocate:
Applicants must have reliable transportation.

The work site is located across the river from Prairie Lea, on the Guadalupe County side of the San Marcos River. The address is listed in Kingsbury but is located closer to Prairie Leah.
