Description A growing healthcare practice in San Marcos, CA, is seeking a Medical Biller eager to develop their career in a collaborative and supportive team environment. Assist with preparing and submitting patient claims to insurance providers for timely reimbursement.
Verify insurance eligibility and coordinate pre-authorizations for procedures as necessary.
Perform follow-ups with insurance companies to resolve any claim denials or payment delays.
Patient Account Management:
Post payments to patient accounts and ensure correct allocation of payments.
Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing and educate them on payment options.
Administrative Support:
Maintain accurate records of billing correspondence and compliance documentation.
Assist with generating reports on billing activity for internal review and quality auditing.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare-related certifications (RHIT, RHIA) are an advantage.
1-2 years of experience in a medical billing or administrative role (open to recent graduates with relevant coursework/training).
Basic knowledge of medical billing software and abilities with electronic health records (EHR).
Familiar with CPT and ICD-10 codes, with a willingness to learn and improve expertise.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with patients and insurance providers.
High motivation to learn, expand technical knowledge, and grow within the healthcare industry.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple priorities effectively.
