Must possess a minimum of 5 years’ professional employment experience as a Locksmith.

Must possess extensive mechanical knowledge of lock/key equipment and systems.

Must possess extensive knowledge in the mechanics of door hardware, to include life safety codes and security requirements.

Must demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Must possess the ability and willingness to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff, guests, and contractors.

Preferred Qualifications

Texas DPS Certified Locksmith Manager

Some supervisory experience in this trade

Experience in higher education and/or government

Proficiency using e-mail and portable electronic communication devices

Experience using AiM and SAP

Job DescriptionResponsible for developing and maintaining the University lock and key structure and system.Job Duties

Performs installation, re-keying, preventative maintenance, and repairs to mechanical

lock and key systems and equipment on the University campus.

Issues and receives keys, audits and maintains keys and key inventory, and maintains hard copies and electronic records.

Reviews submittals for construction projects and recommends hardware solution, based upon life safety code and security requirements.

Performs PMs on lock/key equipment, access control.

Mentors employees of lower pay grades employed in IMS , including student employees.

Inspects buildings and perform preventative maintenance (PM) as needed

system hardware, and entry systems.

Completes work orders.

Provide oversight for maintenance and support of technology and access-related

equipment.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment & operate and maintain university

vehicle.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain eligibility to drive a university vehicle pursuant to the University’s Driver Selection Policy.

Must be available and willing to work after-hours on call on a rotating basis with other Ingress Management Services shop personnel.
