Upholds Kaiser Permanentes Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws.
Checks every trash bag for infectious waste using established standards and procedures.
Notifies supervisor regarding bags inappropriately marked for infectious waste.
Identifies and reports to supervisor which department the bag holding improperly identified infectious waste originated.
Assesses if department users are properly bagging waste.
Operates sterilizers and compactors.
Performs other duties as determined appropriate by the Environmental Services Department Manager or designee.
Basic Qualifications:Experience
Six months EVS experience in hospital setting to include handling of biohazardous waste disposal requirements.
Per the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived.

Additional Requirements:
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English effectively.
Must be familiar with Title 22 regulations.
Must be able to perform strenuous bending and lifting, and lift 40 to 50 pounds.
