When ever you talk about a service dispatcher, I consider it to be one of the hardest jobs in our company and it requires a very smart dedicated intelligent hardworking person. A dispatcher is not just some clerk that answers a phone and makes entries in a computer! This job really requires a lot of brains and as such it is a very skilled position that really requires a professional. Because of all of these things I have mentioned, I also think that it probably should be a very high paying position for the person who understands this and who can do the job right.
Just to be clear, I am really looking for some experienced skilled people for this position. We have one dispatcher now but we need two more people.
We have 20 service technicians and usually 100 customers a day. As a service dispatcher you have to keep track of all the technicians and all the customers at all times. One of the principal jobs is to receive a service call, evaluate its importance and get the appropriate service tech to that job in a matter of hours and then to make sure the service call is complete within 24 hours.
We are extremely interested in your experience with dispatch programs. We currently use a program called Desco and ESC and we hate this program.
Even if you think you are not interested in a new job at the moment, if you have experience with other dispatch programs and would like to come in and tell us about it, we would be very happy to pay you a consulting fee to do so.
