Job Description
The basic function of the Controls Install Technician is to install building automation systems (BAS). The Technician is responsible for performing duties assigned by the site lead, maintaining a high quality of work and representing the company in a manner that promotes good relations.
The controls system installer position requires 1-2 years’ experience installing network, low-voltage wiring, cabling and conduit systems for building automation systems.
Job Requirements/Responsibilities:
POSITIVE Attitude with strong work ethic
Self-Starter, self-motivated yet able to follow orders as directed
Can execute the installation of Floor Level, Mechanical Room Level, and Plant Level BAS
Install raceway and wire for Building Automation Systems
Install controllers and control devices
Install, terminate and test low voltage cables and Ethernet cables (twisted pair, stranded and solid conductor low voltage)
Route cable through conduit, above ceilings and between floors per job specifications
Capable of reading and interpreting BAS Submittal Drawings
Capable of reading and interpreting MEP Plans & Specifications
Know industry standards (NEC)
Maintain the company’s high standard of quality and professionalism with regards to workmanship, customer relations, team members, behavior and appearance
Submit required paperwork (timesheets, Site JSA’s reports, customer deliverables, etc.) on time
Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Titan DataCom Inc. and OSHA
Perform other related duties as assigned
Basic hand tools necessary to perform required work (industry standard).
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Physical Demands & Work Environment
At times, this job can be physically demanding and might require working in somewhat confined places.
Climbing ladders, pulling, lifting, bending are all in a day’s work.
Ability to maneuver in and around pipework and air ducts and work safely in close proximity to exposed line voltage and low voltage wiring and terminations.
