Accounting Specialist FTEP

Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accounting Specialist role in the government industry, located in San Antonio, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including processing receipts, tracking expenditures, and managing data entry and coding of invoices, receipts, folios, and credit card transactions. This role also involves interaction with different departments and vendors to ensure invoices and receipts are received and entered into the system in a timely manner.Responsibilities: Review credit card transactions to ensure the correct receipt is attached to the transaction and document any errors found Monitor and track the number of transactions reviewed versus the number of errors found Responsible for processing receipts and tracking expenditures Perform data entry and coding of invoices, receipts, and credit card transactions related to travel, lodging, meals, and program expenses Enter and code credit card transactions into the MasterCard Software Perform data entry and coding of invoice and receipt line items into Microsoft Excel for grant budgeting Process expense reports and manage data entry of purchase requisitions in the accounting system, Sage Intacct Work with various departments and vendors to ensure invoices and receipts are received in their entirety and entered into Sage Intact and the designated Microsoft Excel spreadsheet within the required timeframe Provide administrative support as directed. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accounting Specialist or similar role in the Government sector. Proficiency in Sage Intacct and Microsoft Excel is mandatory. Proven experience in processing purchase requisitions. Demonstrated ability in data entry tasks. Familiarity with handling credit card receipts and credit card reconciliation. Proficiency in coding, particularly in relation to invoices and expenses. Experience in managing expense accounts and expense reporting. Expertise in coding invoices, customer invoices, and vendor invoices. Ability to resolve invoice issues promptly and efficiently. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
