We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cable Technician Foreman to lead and oversee commercial cabling projects. The ideal candidate will manage a small crew, ensuring high-quality installation of structured cabling systems while maintaining efficiency, safety, and project timelines. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to work independently on job sites.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a crew of 1–3 technicians on commercial cabling projects.
Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, and other low-voltage systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and project specifications to ensure proper installation.
Perform cable routing, dressing, labeling, and testing to industry standards.
Oversee and ensure adherence to safety protocols and company quality standards.
Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members regarding progress and issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site as needed.
Occasionally assist with CCTV and other low-voltage system installations.
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in structured cabling installation, with at least 4+ years in a leadership or foreman role.
Proficient in copper and fiber optic cable installation, termination, and testing.
Ability to read and work from blueprints and construction documents.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and manage small crews effectively.
Familiarity with industry tools, testing equipment, and standards (TIA/EIA).
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
BICSI certification or equivalent is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and work in various environments (including ceilings, crawl spaces, and outdoors).
Comfortable working on active construction sites.
