For more information, visit www.ethicon.com .As a Facilities Engineer , you will be responsible for ensuring continued support for all aspects of the site related to Facilities operations. Provide technical leadership for utilities systems operation, repair and maintenance. Mentor Facilities Technicians on both equipment and compliance. Lead/drive innovation and process improvement resulting in improved efficiency and cost reductions. Lead the execution of Facilities related projects (as assigned). Support and direct (as necessary), Facilities Subcontractors operating on site. Maintain a cost effective and compliant approach to Utilities and Soft Services operational aspects.

Plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to settle appropriate action and devise new approaches to problems encountered.

Demonstrate full use and application of standard engineering principles, theories, concepts and techniques.

Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work in part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.

Perform work that involves conventional engineering practice, but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and difficult coordination requirements.

Technically supervise or coordinate the work of engineers, draftspersons, technicians and others who assist in specific tasks.

Ensure personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.

Perform root cause analysis to situations or non-conformances related to Facilities and calibrations.

Work with other department’s representatives as assigned, to ensure manufacturing operations and projects receive effective technical support.

Observe and assure the Facilities Team follows all Company’s Environmental, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene policies and regulations, including OSHA requirements.

Follow all applicable quality management system, environmental, safety and occupational health policies, laws, regulations and standards. (for example, ISO 13485, ISO14001 & OSHAS18001).

Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Sciences field is required. A Master’s degree is helpful.

A minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience, with a Bachelor’s degree, or a minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience, with a Master’s degree, is required.

Knowledge of Facilities systems (e.g. HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.).

Knowledge of National Codes (Federal and State).

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Knowledge in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for maintenance and calibration

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating procedures, technical procedures, and government regulations.

Supervisory experience and Project Management experience is required.

Understanding and domain of investigation process and methodologies.

Ability to collaborate with all levels of management in a multi-functional team environment is required.

May be required to travel 5-10% domestically or internationally.

Weekend, after hours, or early morning work, conference calls, or meetings may be required on occasion.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $61,000- $97,750. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
