This Master Data Engineer will be a hands-on individual contributor within our Auto Loans organization, operating in our innovation division (Garage) along with like minded knowledge leaders to tackle our hardest problems, establishing patterns, collaborating across teams and lines of business including enterprise to push the boundaries of data ecosystem enabling new use cases and democratizing the data including machine learning. What You'll Do:- Work with a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems
- Work on proof of concepts ranging from new and upcoming databases to warehousing including big data ecosystem and related tooling
- Utilize programming languages like Java, Scala/Python and Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases and Cloud based data warehousing services such as Snowflake
- Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
- Conducting code/design reviews with other team members to make sure the system is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance
- Participate and contribute to the data architecture standards and governance process including best practices & patterns
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 7 years of experience in application development involving Java
- At least 3 years of experience in big data technologies (NoSQL, Hadoop, Apache Spark)
- Master's Degree
- 1+ year experience working on streaming data applications (Spark Streaming, Kafka/Kinesis, and Flink)
- 2+ years of experience with operational databases with good understanding of transactionality, replication and other aspects like change data capture
- 2+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure or another public cloud service including infrastructure aspects
