Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in Pasadena, Texas. This role is crucial to this growing team as you will be responsible for managing the collection process, handling escalated AR questions, and dealing with past due accounts. This role also requires strong computer skills and a good understanding of credit/collections law. Responsibilities: Handle the collection process for accounts aging 90 days and beyond Deal with escalated AR questions, requests, and disputes Negotiate with past due accounts and manage credit hold/release status Process the full cycle of getting monies collected, experience in manufacturing/commercial industry would be beneficial Provide backup support for billing functions when necessary Use Microsoft Excel and other software to maintain accurate customer credit records Understand and apply credit/collections law and process when attorneys get involved Submit regular reports on the status of unpaid accounts and any repayment progress Provide excellent customer service while handling B2B collections Collaborate with team members to ensure all collection processes are completed efficiently and effectively. Requirements Applicant should have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Collections Specialist or in a similar role Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Familiarity with billing functions is necessary Experience with collection processes is a must Capability to perform as a collector is required Knowledge and understanding of credit procedures is needed Outstanding customer service skills are essential Experience in B2B collections is advantageous Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent negotiation and decision-making abilities Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
