Staff Accountant

Description We are seeking a Jr. Staff Accountant to join our team in the Oil & Gas industry, based in Pasadena, Texas. This role provides a long-term contract employment opportunity where you will be responsible for various tasks such as credit card reconciliations, processing accruals, and maintaining accurate customer records. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive credit card reconciliations for a large employee base Process and book journal entries with a high level of accuracy Handle month-end close procedures efficiently Maintain accurate customer credit records Utilize software tools such as Sage 100, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Table for various accounting tasks Perform copying and filing duties as necessary Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the team Manage accrual accounting tasks Perform account reconciliation tasks as required Participate in the processing of accruals.Requirements Must hold a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a Staff Accountant role or similar. Proficiency in Accrual Accounting and Accruals is required. Demonstrated experience in Month End Close procedures. Expertise in Account Reconciliation is necessary. Familiarity with Sage 100 software is preferred. Must have experience in utilizing VLOOKUP function and Pivot Table in Excel. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professionalism and ethical behavior is a must. Advanced knowledge of accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations. Must be willing to continue professional development.
