DESCRIPTION
The role of the Mechanical Designer I is to work closely with discipline designers, leads and managers to develop mechanical detailed construction drawings. The Designer will work closely with a mentor in learning and preparing mechanical deliverables. The Designer will maintain strong attention to detail and take a proactive approach in engaging with team members to efficiently compose, draft, proof, and deliver drawings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist other designers in composing, drafting, proofing and distributing drawing packages in collaboration with
project managers/engineers, discipline leads, and discipline managers.
Assist other designers in delivering high-quality drawing deliverables including:
o Complex plans and details
o Isos
o Plot Plans
o Structural details
o Piping Plans
o Shop Drawings
o 3D Model
o PFD
o P&ID drawings
o PFD drawings
o Civil foundation design
o Plant as build
o Plant layout
o B.O.M.
Work with peers, designer, discipline leads, and managers to successfully complete construction packages with high
quality.
Support engineering, project management, and project documentation efforts.
Utilize existing standards and specifications and support engineers and designers in developing new standards and
specifications per company and client requirements.
Learn nomenclature, specifications, and symbols.
Assist in walking down facilities for data collection and developing as-built drawings.
Regularly interact with personnel with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
Maintain high regard for personal safety and for the safety of company assets and employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
4 years of industry experience or an Associates Degree in drafting/design + 2 years of experience
Proficiency with 3D modeling using AutoCAD, and AutoCAD suite.
Familiarity with Plant 3D and CadWorx a plus.
Must be able to take direction, have a willingness to learn and retain and a fast pace, and have strong communication
skills.
Occasional travel for site walk-downs and client meetings.
Clear a drug screen and background check.
