Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the chair.Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor:This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position responsible for contributing significantly to Stephen F. Austin State University’s undergraduate and/or graduate programs through teaching, scholarship/creative accomplishment, and service. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the chair.Essential Job Functions Clinical Instructor:

Prepares and delivers classes to undergraduate and/or graduate students.

Compiles, administers, and grades examinations.

Provides services to the university and the profession.

May conduct supplemental instructional activities such as independent studies, internships, and advising.

Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor:

Performs an equivalent of 24 teaching load credits for the combined fall and spring semesters; reduction of teaching load through reassignment of duties is possible under certain circumstances.

Engages in research/scholarly/creative and service activities at levels that are appropriate to faculty rank and departmental tenure/merit criteria.

Provides services to the university and the profession.

Participates in promotion review of lower-ranked faculty members within the department.

When tenured, participates in tenure review of candidates for tenure.

May conduct supplemental instructional activities such as independent studies, internships, advising, and thesis/dissertation supervision.

Non-Essential Job Functions

Clinical Instructor:

May supervise the work of students and/or graduate assistants.

May serve on departmental, college, and university committees.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor:

May receive course load reassignment when assigned administrative duties in support of the department/college/university.

May receive course load reassignment when assigned to prepare course material during the first semester/year when included as part of initial contract.

May receive course load reassignment when approved to conduct research/scholarly/creative accomplishment and service which exceed normal expectations.

May supervise the work of students and/or graduate assistants.

May serve on departmental, college, and university committees.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education

Clinical Instructor:

Master’s degree in the field in which the individual will be teaching is required. Some fields may allow applicable practical experience to substitute for Master’s degree.Assistant Professor:Terminal degree in the field in which the individual will be teaching is required. ABD candidates may be considered if Ph.D. is earned prior to start date.Associate Professor/Professor:Terminal degree in the field in which the individual will be teaching is required.Required Experience and Training The rank of Clinical Instructor is held by an individual who demonstrates practical experience sufficient to teach at the university level, through teaching or profession.The rank of Assistant Professor is held by an individual who demonstrates the capability to produce research/scholarly/creative accomplishments, teach effectively, and provide service to the academic and general communities.The rank of Associate Professor is held by an individual with a proven record of research/scholarly/creative accomplishments, effective teaching, and service to the academic and general communities. The individual must demonstrate excellence in teaching and excellence in either research/scholarly/creative accomplishments or in service. An individual should have held the rank of Assistant Professor for at least three years.The rank of Professor is held by an individual who has a sustained record of research/scholarly/creative accomplishments, effective teaching, and service to the academic and general communities and whose contributions to the profession or field are substantial and are recognized beyond the campus. The individual must demonstrate excellence in all appropriate categories: teaching, research and/or scholarly/creative accomplishments, and service. An individual should have held the rank of Associate Professor for at least three years.Preferred Qualifications Clinical Instructor:Terminal degree is preferred. Experience teaching at the university level is preferred.Special Conditions for Eligibility This is a security-sensitive position subject to criminal record check.This is an IT-sensitive position subject to the Computer and Network Security policy.Other Specifications Stephen F. Austin State University is a comprehensive regional university located in Nacogdoches, Texas that recently became a member of The University of Texas System. This is an open rank Clinical Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor position that will be housed in the Department of Human Services and Educational Leadership. It is expected this position will serve the Masters School Psychology program, which is currently NASP -approved. The program is unique in that it offers a distance education track that attracts students working in underserved school districts.Minimum Qualifications:

Specialist-level degree (minimum of 60 graduate semester hours or equivalent) in school psychology. Only one position may be filled at this level (Clinical Instructor). At the specialist level, the candidate must also have significant school-based experience.

Licensed Specialist in School Psychology ( LSSP ) or ability and commitment to becoming an LSSP in Texas.

Ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.

Ability to mentor graduate students.

Commitment to be trained as an NASP Program Reviewer.

Commitment to be trained as an NCSP Reviewer.

Commitment to teaching synchronously via Zoom or related platform.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in schools as a school psychologist.

Experience supervising school psychology practicum and/or intern students.

Ph.D. in School Psychology.

Ability and desire to teach some or all of the following: Research Methods, Assessment, Practicum, Consultation, School-Based Applied Behavior Analysis.

Record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations.

Experience with NASP accreditation.

NCSP applicant reviewer.

Experience with teaching distance education classes.
