The Hidalgo County Irrigation District No. 1 (HCID1) is accepting applications for an Irrigation General Laborer. This full-time position may include pipeline construction, operation of heavy equipment, and general labor duties. The preferred candidates will have experience working in an outdoor construction environment, and be able to learn about the HCID1 processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and equipment use.

Applicants must be able to work well with others, take directions and constructive feedback and adapt and overcome situations as a professional.

Working unsupervised as an individual is a possibility from time to time.

Looking for an honest, hardworking, reliable, trustworthy, self-motivated asset to add to our long-term team of experienced employees.

Experience in construction, concrete work, traffic flagging, land irrigation, canal operation, and pipeline construction, safety a plus. A valid Texas driver’s license, background check, drug screen and the ability to be insured by the HCID1’s liability carrier are also requirements for employment. This position has the potential to transition into a full-time position with benefits.
