Job Description:
1. A day in the life - Pick up container at a depot where you inspect the container when they open (6-8am). The container is loaded by the depot. You strap down and inspect the container and communicate to vendor and vendors customer as to when the delivery will be made. You complete the required paperwork. Deliver and place customers location where you again complete the required paperwork. Do it again the next day. Often 2 containers a day are delivered depending on distance.
Details:
1. Travel
a. 75% or more travel.
b. Can include any city in the US as a base for a 3 week timeframe.
c. Places we have delivered from
i. Ohio, Chicago, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, Kentucky, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma. I am sure I am forgetting some.
d. 3 weeks on 1 week off (or it can be 100% travel if the driver prefers).
2. This is a long-term full-time position.
3. Need a clean driving record
4. Must be able to regularly pass drug test
5. Acquire and maintain a DOT medical card. Fire and Ice pays for the medical visit.
6. Experience with truck and long trailer’s required. The trailer length is 40ft.
a. Experience hauling and delivering sea containers a plus
7. Fire and ice covers your hotel stay while working.
8. Driver pays for personal expense such as food
9. CDL not required
10. Truck is 2019 ram 3500 with less than 100k miles
11. Must complete daily vehicle inspections and complete required paperwork
12. Must complete all paperwork required by the vendor.
13. Perform or oversee vehicle routine maintenance (paid by the hour)
14. Driver is provided a credit card for business expenses only (Fuel)
Pay:
1. Pay is 18% of BOL – driver is paid loaded miles only. For example, You do not get paid to drive from the customers drop to the hotel. A flat fee of $75 is paid to the driver for deadhead to and from destination city.
a. Average pay is $800-$1000 a week depending on the distance and number of containers delivered.
b. Pay is weekly and is electronically deposited.
c. Evaluation at 120 days. After the initial 120 days the driver will receive annual evaluations.
