procedures. Conducts physician office/patient interviews, and explains hospital
procedure guidelines and policies.
Coordinates with clinical departments on schedule modifications.ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIESInclude thefollowing. Others may be assigned.
Responsible for obtaining complete andaccurate clinical, demographic and financial information during the schedulingprocess. Enters data in schedulingsystem or other applications. Providesthe customer with prep and other appointment instructions.
Follows guidelines for specialrequests/Stat/schedule modification procedures and coordinates communicationswith clinical areas to accommodate the customers’ requests.
Answers telephone calls according todesignated scripting for the scheduling process. Maintains positive customer service at alltimes, referring unresolved issues to appropriate supervisor.
Notifies customer of physician order,pre-authorization and other financial clearance requirements.
Performs functions of other PASUfunctions or registration when requested.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,ABILITIESTo perform this jobsuccessfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm
Demonstrated working knowledge ofsoftware/system/equipment/PCs.
Knowledge of function and relationshipswithin a hospital environment preferred
Advance Customer service skills andexperience
Ability to work in a call centerenvironment
Ability to receive and express detailedinformation through oral and written communications
Course in Medical Terminology preferred
High achievement in productivity.
Builds and maintains collaborativerelationships with both internal and external Clients that lead to moreeffective communication and a higher level of productivity and accuracy.
Identifies opportunities to improvepatient relations and shorten the time it takes to handle scheduling processes.
This position requires high-levelproblem solving and analytical skills, technical accuracy, excellentcommunication skills and the highest ethical standards.
EDUCATION /EXPERIENCEInclude minimumeducation, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-4 year administrative experience inmedical facility, health insurance, or related area.
2 years in Patient Access/Schedulingpreferred.
Some college coursework is preferred
