Current license or valid permit to practice professional nursing in Texas.JOB SUMMARY:The Nursing Supervisor is responsible and accountable for directing and facilitating the flow ofpatient care activities of the department/area.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Supports and assists with the development and actualization of the department's/area'sgoals (strategic plan). Coordinates and directs the department's/area's patient care operations for an assignedshift. Competently provides care appropriate to age and specialty of the patient as defined bythe department. Manages personnel effectively, and analyzes workload and skill requirement to meet careneeds for assigned shift. Promotes and practices cost containment. Practices and promotes patient/family advocacy and assists with maintenance of ethicalprocedure. Practices and promotes positive peer and guest relations.
