Position Summary: Construction
Implement the design plans created by landscape designers by installing plant and hardscape materials. Involves adding or creating new landscape plantings around the foundation of a home or business that typically include bed preparation, ornamental planting to include annuals and perennials, shrubs and trees. Rock Work: build retainer walls using concrete blocks. Installation of irrigation systems, and back flow devices. This is an entry level position with at least 1 years’ experience needed. The driver is responsible to drive the crew he is on to the job site.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Drives company truck transporting crew to job site.
Planting of shrubs, ground cover, trees, artificial turf, and sod.
Dig, clean, and cover up trenches.
Install underground piping for Irrigation system.
Install heads, Set Valves, controllers, and backflow devices.
Grading, raking, removal of rocks, shrubs, and sod.
Landscape, plant trees, staking, tree planting, cut stone, and mix mortar.
Minimal rock work building retainer walls, French drains, and outside fireplaces.
Assist crew leads on loading construction equipment.
General cleanup upon completion of the work.
Drivers must be al least 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
Physically fit individuals who have a record of dependability. This position will require physical abilities: walking, standing, sitting, stooping, climbing, bending, & lifting 50 lb. bags etc. This position will also include individuals who take pride in their work and a job well done, while being able to work long, hard hours outdoors.
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities:
Ability to stay alert.
Clean out trucks and trailers daily.
Attend monthly safety meetings.
Treat co-workers and supervisors with respect
Able to communicate and follow instructions from project managers and crew leads.
Qualifications
Willing to undergo a background check for consideration once offered the position.
Able to meet and exceed deadlines.
Able to follow directions from superiors and crew leaders.
Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Skill in the operation and care of tools and equipment
Able to work eight hours or more five days a week with necessary breaks.
Must be able to work hard and long days with heavy lifting.
Good attendance and punctuality
Other tasks may be assigned by Division Manager and or Crew Leaders.
Position Summary: Landscape
Landscaper performs routine lawn maintenance duties including grass cutting, lawn edging, and weed pulling for commercial and municipal customers.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Follows written and verbal instructions from the crew leader.
Maintains gardens and lawns, including mowing, trimming, pruning, raking, and weeding.
Mowing, edging, liter pick-up and weed eating of turf areas using hand power or riding mower.
Mix and spray or spread fertilizer, herbicides or insecticides onto grass, shrubs and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
Trims shrubs, and small trees using manual tools such as weed eater or edger.
Pull tall weeds and nurture smaller weeds using lawn care products.
Loads and unloads equipment and tools into work vehicles.
Drives work vehicles to and from sites.
Adheres to all safety precautions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Uses equipment, including tractors, mowers, leaf blowers, and edgers.
May Lift up to 50 pounds and handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, lifting, pulling, and climbing.
Communicates effectively.
Works well independently and with a team.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Education and Experience Requirements:
At least one year of landscaping experience is preferred, but not required.
Must have a driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Must be over 21 years old. (for insurance purposes)
