Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.The Global Heavy Rents Demand Consultant serves as the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) expert managing the monthly rental S&OP process, ensuring inputs are properly submitted by the established corporate time frame.Objectives & Responsibilities:This role will manage the Global Heavy Rents forecast for Earthmoving, Excavation, Load and Haul, and Paving products. You will serve as the “Voice of Rental Demand” to our product group partners and serve as the “Voice of the Product Group” to our Caterpillar Heavy Rents Field Managers.This is a highly visible role within Caterpillar as you are the single source of Rental S&OP for 22 product groups across 12 forecast regions. If you love variety of work, this is a job for you!You will provide guidance to territory managers, but also present forecast recommendations to Senior Vice Presidents of the company. This role will prepare materials, and lead discussions for S&OP demand meetings, monthly business reviews (MBR), demand review and velocity review with responsibility for all Global Construction and Infrastructure products that go into dealer rental fleetsWhat You’ll Do
Own it – Lead Sales & Ops Planning process as the subject matter expert
Drive it – Align the Dealer Annual Business plan with S&OP signal for each product group
Manage it – Manage & recommend monthly changes to drive an accurate demand signal
Be it – Be the face of Caterpillar S&OP to the field team
Solve it – Evaluate problems, review multiple solutions, and provide guidance on solutions.
Coach it – Counsel Field Teams on S&OP tools, rental configurations, and dealer planning
Measure it – Analyze and measure dealer forecast accuracy, understand changes in forecast, and develop action plans to deliver full year fleet plan
Improve it – Conduct detailed analysis of dealer rental forecast (ordering, inventory management, etc) with special emphasis on streamlining process to fix forecasting issues
Expand it – Identify the potential market opportunities sharing best practices on S&OP throughout the territories to grow Rental
Train it – Evaluate poor performing dealers and work with Caterpillar Demand experts to help train the dealer operations on S&OP
Understand it- Understand the dealer fleet plan, and meet with the Forecast Region’s monthly to gain insights
Guide it – Provides continuous and effective communication among demand and supply, while maintaining and upkeeping the S&OP process

Problem Solving: Analytical skills and proficiency using tools such as Excel and Power BI to identify and resolve organizational, operational or process problems.
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Understanding of forecasting, dealer planning application, & dealer operations
Previous knowledge of GCI products and CAT dealer operations
Previous knowledge of product applications
Good human relations skills to develop a cooperative working relationship with others inside and outside the department
Bachelor’s degree

Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring 3 days per week of onsite, in-office work

Summary Pay Range:$126,000.00 - $189,000.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
