Description Robert Half is looking for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected services company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. Based in the Irving, Texas area, this opening for a Controller is a permanent position.Your responsibilities

Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection

Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations

Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities Requirements - Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

Self-starter and strong ethical standards

Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Strong familiarity with Public Accounting Audit

Current CPA License experience

HealthCare Industry experience desired

Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
