Rental is in many respects the ultimate service, and is increasingly an important consideration for customers worldwide and generally presents opportunities for profitable growth. As the rental industry continues to develop Caterpillar needs a capable and committed team to support our independent dealer network to help our customers win. The Cat Rental & Used Communications Manager is a key role on this team.In this role you will work closely with senior leaders in the organization to drive business success and build a winning culture. You will create and execute communication strategies to help implement Cat Rental & Used initiatives within Caterpillar and in support of our dealer network. You will be a consultant and a trusted advisor to the business team, providing innovation and leadership for communications that drive clarity and alignment for growth opportunities. Another key function of this role is supporting program and project management for key strategic initiatives in our growth strategy; providing creative inputs for connecting the dots, aligning stakeholders, and anticipating downstream impacts to streamline execution. Other elements of this role are support for employee and dealer events and meetings, business highlights reporting, organizational change management, and strategic support for the Cat Rental & Used Senior Vice President.What You Will Do:

Manage division communication plans, daily operations and the execution of internal and external messaging.

Prepare internal and external presentations and other materials to support strategic execution with key stakeholder groups.

Develop strong rapport and collaborate with senior and executive leadership.

Be a strategic partner and perform critical thinking to resolve high level objectives.

Partner with Human Resources to build and manage strategies that develop leaders, create a growth mindset, and instill deep understanding of the business.

Refine processes and systems to ensure smooth implementation of communication strategies, supporting team growth and high-standard delivery while reinforcing strategic focus.

Manage dealer communications specific to the Rental & Used strategy​​.

Manage content and execution for dealer meetings and events​​.

What You Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing Communications, or related field, or the equivalent in on-the-job experience.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.

Communicating & Writing: Creates and develops materials, speeches, presentations, reviews press releases and develops internal and external social media plans. Will play a leading role in defining division and segment specific writing approaches and practices.

Organizational Communications : Develops organizational communication strategies and policies. Advises others on a wide spectrum of communications programs. Leads in the design and development of multimedia communications campaigns. Champions the use of innovative communications vehicles and practices.

Planning & Project Management : Creating and implementing a strategy for supporting current and future business needs while also leading the execution of the agreed upon timelines. Ensuring stakeholder awareness and approvals are gained appropriately.

Communicating Complex Concepts : Quickly grasps complex ideas and details with the ability to summarize and simplify in a simple, clear language appropriate to the audience(s).

Effective Communications : Communicates effectively with diverse audience, internally and externally, develops a deep understanding of global cultures, to ensure messages are clearly written and understood. Has the ability to coach others on methods of improving their own communications.

Influencing : Leads and presents collaborative proposals that persuasively influence decision makers. Delivers well-received presentations of cost, benefits, risks, and other considerations. Advises on techniques to build rapport and commitment to common purpose. Achieves influence and impact even when holding a position contrary to the majority.

Initiative : Chooses to go above and beyond what’s expected of the role without being asked. Proceeds without seeking unnecessary permissions while keeping stakeholders properly updated with progress.

Interpersonal Relationships : Seeks out what's common in conflicting points of view. Establishes, influences and maintains credibility with key individuals inside and outside own group and earns respect at all levels of the organization.

The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL and secondary location is the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX area
