We are looking for a forklift operator/material handler for our fast-paced/growing warehouse team. Must have a minimum of one year of forklift and warehouse experience. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
This position will involve using heavy equipment which requires the employee to maintain safety SOPs at all times. The employee has the responsibility for his/her own safety as well as the safety of others.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Operate forklifts to load/unload materials from dry vans, flatbeds, containers and move them to and from staging/storage areas.
Maintain shipping paperwork for inbound and outbound loads.
Order pulling.
Use of scan gun to process orders
Loading and unloading products from dry vans, containers, and flatbeds.
Moving goods packed on pallets around the storage areas and docks.
Using heavy equipment to handle material that requires the employee to maintain safety awareness.
Placing goods in correct designated locations, following inventory control processes.
Confirming that trailers and loads are secure.
Performing daily equipment checks of forklift equipment.
General housekeeping duties in the warehouse.
Good warehousing practices.
Physical demands and abilities
Regularly sitting on a forklift or standing for prolonged periods of time.
Frequently lift 50 pounds and be able to maintain a fast work ethic.
Ability to work in a range of temperatures, depending upon the season.
Ability to work indoors / outdoors at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Certifications)
High School education or GED preferred
OSHA Forklift certification is a plus'
