We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Roller Operator to join our paving team for heavy highway civil construction projects in the Houston, Texas area. This role involves operating rollers to compact asphalt to the proper density and smoothness in accordance with project specifications. Attention to detail and knowledge of compaction techniques are essential to success in this position.

Hourly rate of pay is $21 - $26+ depending on experience.
Job Duties Include:
Operate steel drum and pneumatic rollers to compact hot mix asphalt.
Monitor mat temperatures, thickness, and density to ensure proper compaction.
Work closely with the paving crew to coordinate rolling patterns and timing.
Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on roller equipment.
Assist with other paving-related tasks as needed, including handwork.
Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Complete equipment logs and daily reports as required.
Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience operating asphalt rollers in paving operations.
Understanding of compaction techniques, asphalt materials, and project specifications.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 100 lbs.
Strong attention to detail and ability to detect surface imperfections.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working on TXDOT or municipal paving projects.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Ability to operate additional paving-related equipment (pavers, skid steers, etc.).
Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues.
