Location: Multiple job site locations in Houston, downtown, Galleria, Katy, Clear Lake and other greater Houston area.

Compensation: Depending on experience, please include your salary requirements.

Job Description

Commercial Construction Superintendent for an interior renovations firm, specializing in high rise class A building build-outs and remodels. The superintendent will manage field crew and project execution following schedule and budget guidelines. The superintendent will manage various projects, locations and size crews in the greater Houston area ranging in project size and duration. The superintendent should have the ability to manage time and various size crews, motivate and lead the team to successful project completion.

Job Responsibilities

-Procore construction software utilization for daily logs, photos, crew time, and communication regarding projects with the management team.

-Taking direction and working with the project manager to complete projects.

-Travelling between projects in various Downtown and surrounding area buildings is required; must have reliable transportation.

-Responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and onsite supervision of Lance Construction's field team. You will guide and manage field crew to complete quality projects on time, and on budget. Ensure adequate manpower is onsite to meet goals.

-Tracking and assessment of field crew timesheets and job coding to proper project.

-Responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and onsite supervision of all subcontractors. This includes management of security clearances, coordinating with subcontractor's project manager and field supervisors to schedule projects to meet project schedule and deadlines.

-Coordinating and scheduling of work with Lance Construction project management team, construction managers, property managers, and building owners.

-Ensuring projects quality control and craftmanship.

-Identify discrepancies in construction drawings.

-Identify potential problems in a project and present a solution to resolve the issues.

-Responsible for RFI’s.

-Jobsite safety and reporting.

-Ordering, managing and assessing material and equipment orders through the life cycle of the project.

-Maintain project schedule and construction timeline.

-Responsible for coordination of all site inspections with City officials and 3rd party inspectors.

-Punch list completion and project close out documentation.

-After hours supervision when required on site and/or by phone.

-project contract compliance, construction drawings, and building rules and regulations.

-Strong Verbal and written communication skills with Lance team, customers, property management, engineering and subcontractors. Foster client and subcontractor relationships through proper communication and protocols.

-Identify work beyond contract documents and assist in resolving scope conflicts.

-Collaborate with project manager to meet project goals.

-Assist project management team in acquisition and approval of shop drawings, samples, and submittal packages.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

-2 to 5 year minimum experience as a project lead or superintendent in commercial construction.

-Procore construction software proficiency.

-College degree preferred or 5 year minimum experience in lieu of education.

-Strong knowledge. interpretation and understanding of commercial construction drawings and documents.

-History of completed projects with a proven track record of meeting timeline and budget constraints.

-Strong communication and writing skills; must be able to communicate effectively and properly through email.

-Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite.

-Zoom meetings

-OSHA certifications preferred.

-Understands Houston commercial construction building processes, permits and procedures.

-Tenant improvement experience, after hours work, and knowledge of high rise office building environments are a plus.

-Adaptability to various changing project situational environment.

-Ability to perform in fast paced high profile situations.

-Demonstrate ability to hold themselves and others accountable and meet expectations.

-Working knowledge of commercial real estate and property management operations are a plus.

Experience:

Commercial Construction Superintendent: 2 years minimum

Procore project management construction software proficiency

Commercial construction experience

Managing field crews of 5-20+
