One of the largest food and beverage distributors in the United States is looking to add a dedicated and experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of diesel-powered vehicles in the Southwest Houston area. This is a 3rd shift position, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems in diesel trucks.
Perform regular maintenance tasks on diesel-powered delivery trucks and other fleet vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Communicate effectively with team members and management to provide updates on repair status.
Overhaul or replace worn or damaged parts using precision instruments, as well as power tools.
Read blueprints/wiring diagram to determine location, size, capacity, and type of components needed to execute repairs.
REQUIREMENTS:
+1 year of related mechanical experience.
High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of a formal diesel mechanic training program or vocational school is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
Bilingual is a plus.
Ability to work within the 3rd shift hours. 10 PM – 6 AM
