Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and personable Sales Assistant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone with a love for art, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to prospect for new buyers. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in enhancing the gallery experience for our visitors and supporting the smooth operation of gallery activities during our weekend hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Visitor Engagement: Greet visitors with warmth and enthusiasm, providing them with information about current exhibitions, artworks, and artists.
Sales Support: Assist collectors with inquiries, facilitate sales transactions, and handle art sales and gallery merchandise. Prospect for new art collectors and opportunities.
Gallery Maintenance: Ensure the gallery space is tidy, well-organized, and welcoming. Arrange and display artworks as needed. Ability to lift 30 pounds if needed.
Administrative Tasks: Handle basic administrative duties such as replying to emails, maintaining artwork inventory log and assist social media manager when needed.
Event Assistance: Support with gallery events or exhibitions as needed, including setup, guest management, and post-event cleanup.
Qualifications:
Art Enthusiasm: A genuine interest in art and a desire to share that passion with others.
Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a diverse range of visitors.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and an eye for maintaining a pristine gallery environment.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with gallery staff and contribute positively to a team environment.
Experience: Previous experience in sales is preferred. A background or interest in art is highly desirable.
Professionalism: Well dressed and positive can do attitude with reliable transportation.
