Overview

As a Business Development Representative, your role will be to develop, coordinate, and maintain a profitable portfolio of clients or a "book of business." This position requires strong salesmanship, professionalism, and the ability to secure new business through an existing network, referrals, and cold calling.

Earnings are COMMISSION ONLY. If you prefer a simple base salary, this role is not for you.

Responsibilities

Prospect new business, develop leads, sell, and onboard new LTL Customers

Manage client accounts to retain existing relationships and grow the share of business.

Successfully negotiate price and service with prospects.

Organize and conduct sales activities efficiently and economically in line with sales objectives.

Maintain excellent communication with external and internal customers.

Coordinate account service expectations and customizations with the operations team.

Stay fully informed about competitor developments.

Safeguard all assigned company assets and proprietary data.

Facilitate information meetings with operations team members.

Handle special assignments as directed.

Qualifications

Preferred: 3 years of freight sales experience.

Preferred: History of involvement in community, athletic, or extracurricular activities.

Above-average enthusiasm, energy, and drive.

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Positive attitude.

Proven sales skills.

Valid driver's license.

Ability to travel to meet with clients.

Knowledge of targeted geographical market or vertical niche.

Industry knowledge/experience in LTL, truckload, ocean forwarding, supply chain, or 3rd Party Logistics.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $250,000.00+ per year

Supplemental pay types:

Commission pay
