SUMMARY The Process Engineer under the leadership of the Manager, Engineering will be responsible for driving implementation of continuous improvement principles throughout the VPC and/ or PDC. Developing, maintaining, and controlling all production processes throughout the VPC and PDC. Maintaining open lines of communication with line and staff members to monitor and report progress of key initiatives. Presenting opportunities, data/statistical analysis, observations, and recommendations to the VPC and/or PDC leadership and contribute to strategic and operational decisions involving process redesigns, equipment modifications, and tooling changes. RESPONSIBILITIESReliable, consistent, on-site attendance is a requirement. This position requires you to be punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of the business, including attending and participating in meetings and presentations.Implement continuous improvement principles throughout the VPC and/or PDC.Develop, maintain, and control all production processes throughout the VPC and/or PDC.Maintain open lines of communication with line and staff members to monitor and report progress of key initiatives.Present process improvement opportunities, analysis, observations, and recommendations to the leadership team.Utilize data analytics and statistical analysis to identify opportunities and drive quantitative process improvement projects.Maintain an awareness of leading-edge technology trends in manufacturing & material handling.Design and develop job instructions and accessory installation times for the VPC and/or PDC.Develop standards and documentation relating to, but not limited to facility planning, process design and vehicle flowDevelop and implement strategic plans, standard data charts and work instructions. Train the VPC and/or PDC associates to understand continuous improvement concepts.Coordinate with other departments to ensure accessories launched at the VPC are properly suited for a high-volume manufacturing environment.QUALIFICATIONS Requires a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university and 5-8 years of operations experience, including but not limited to auditing, operations analysis, and successful implementation of performance enhancement initiatives.Vast experience on the implementation of lean tools such as Standard Work, 5S, Visual Management, Kanban, Material Routes, Level Loading, and Poka-yoke.Vast experience in problem-solving in any of the following methodologies: 8Ds, Kepner and Tregoe, Shainin, Red X and Six Sigma.Vast experience in Value Stream Mapping.Vast experience in lean assessments/maturity models.Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.The ability to effectively communicate and interface with diverse audiences is critical.Extensive experience leading and coaching kaizen work teams is necessary as is the ability to motivate and inspire others to take the initiative to make things better.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
