Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Yard Support Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in cargo handling, forklift operation, and outdoor work. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and organization of our yard operations, ensuring that cargo is managed effectively and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cargo Handling: Assist in the loading, unloading, and moving of cargo within the yard. Ensure proper handling and storage of goods to prevent damage and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport cargo and manage inventory. Ensure safe and efficient use of equipment in accordance with company safety protocols.
- Yard Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and organization of the yard area. Keep the outdoor storage areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of cargo movements and inventory. Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year’s previous experience in cargo handling and forklift operation preferred. Familiarity with outdoor work and yard operations is a plus.
- Certifications: Valid forklift operator certification required.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects > 50lbs. and perform physical tasks as required. Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
