Position Summary: Chinquapin Preparatory School is seeking a full-time, Maintenance Technician (preferably live-in) starting as soon as possible. This Maintenance Technician completes all work orders for campus buildings and grounds, including faculty residences, and has a proven track record of high quality work with their hands. This individual is able to make repairs of all types, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical work, drywall and painting, flooring, roofing, landscaping, and auto mechanic work. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, who reports to the Head of School.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
5 years experience in construction, handyman/handyperson repair work, or experience in a related field
Valid Texas DL and willingness to acquire a CDL license within 60 days of hire to serve as a bus driver when needed
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Works well under direction of the Facilities Director, but is also productive with minimal supervision
Strong self motivation skills
Ability to work independently or in a small team environment
Must be able to serve as a positive role model for students
Demonstrated ability to work with students and faculty members
Ability to perform mechanical maintenance all school vehicles, including buses, vans, and small engine equipment
Ability to support the Facilities Director with landscaping as needed, including the school fields and campus quad area
Previous training and/or experience with safety and/or emergency protocols (CPR and AED training/certification) a plus
Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
Knowledge of Google Drive and Google Workspace
Strong time management skills
Strong capacity to manage ongoing projects with new projects
Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and pass a background check
Living on campus is preferred
Salary and Benefits:
Compensation will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience
