A recycling company is looking for a Scale Operator (data entry clerk / cashier). This position will consist of the scale operator serving as a floater, reporting to various locations in Houston. The candidate will report directly to the supervisor or manager of the given location and must be able to function with minimal supervision. Work in this position requires the ability to multitask.

POSITION SUMMARY: A scale operator is responsible for the operation of a weighbridge, which is used to weigh vehicles and their loads. They must ensure that the bridge is level and that the weighing process is accurate.
LOCATION AREAS: 77016 / 77012 / 77020
PAY: $16/hr.
SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri 8 am - 5 pm / Sat 8 am - 1 pm
DUTIES:
Weighing vehicles, sampling of inbound materials, maintaining inbound and outbound scaling documentation, reviewing loads and paperwork for inbound and outbound vehicles, and upkeeping scale house and scales.
Loading and unloading product, writing daily progress reports as well as maintaining spreadsheets and logs
Assisting customers at the scale and the cashier office.
Dealing with computerized scale systems, customer service, basic math, and safety regulations.
Handling data entry, cashier duties, and record keeping. Will be trained on the scale.
Accurately performing data entry. Answer phones and file paperwork as needed.
Occasional general labor work in the yard.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual in English & Spanish is preferred.
Excellent customer service, some cash handling experience.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
