The Rustic Mile furniture store is seeking experienced driver the Katy area. Must be very dependable, have a valid drivers license, good driving history over past 3 years. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE DRIVING A BOX TRUCK AND MAKING DELIVERIES. You must also pass a drug screen and background check no felonies in past 10 years. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DON"T MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS.
Hours Mon - Saturday 10:00am-6pm (closed Sunday & 1 additional day off per week)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for transport of household furniture from origin to destination.
- Loading and unloading furniture for that day's deliveries.
- Responsible for the delivery and set-up of furniture in customer's home.
- Maintain tool kit for the installation, assembly and breakdown of furniture
- Acts as liaison with other staff to meet Company's obligations to the client.
- Responsible for accurate and complete transactions on all paperwork; securing signatures,
- Submit paperwork to supervisor and report any incidents.
- Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
- Responsible for maintaining clean, safe, operating condition of assigned vehicles & equipment. - Adherence to drug-free workplace initiatives.
- Other warehouse duties when not delivering.
QUALIFICATIONS Job Requirements
- Experience driving a 26ft box delivery truck is a must.
- MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE STICK SHIFT
- CDL not required but good driving record a must (no accidents & tickets past 3 years)
- Physically strong (lift 75+lbs) and active with high energy
- Able to lift, handle and carry furniture quickly and safely for a whole work day
- Good communication with customers and co-workers
- Clean and professional appearance
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Must be able to communicate English with Customers
- Positive attitude and good people skills a must.
- Must also be willing to learn
