Truck Yard Job Description: Cook/Cashier
Truck Yard is a dive-ish bar garden with a huge backyard, live music and food trucks where everyone’s invited (and their furry buddies, too.) With lots of heavily shaded outdoor space, food trucks on rotation, a kitchen slinging the best cheesesteaks in town, signature drinks, and multiple bars where you’d least expect it (think tree house, ferris wheel, etc), there’s no place quite like Truck Yard.

DESCRIPTION:
The Cook/Cashier manages multiple roles during each shift…whether that be grilling up some tasty cheesesteaks, operating the register or managing the prep station. In addition, the entire team at Truck Yard is responsible for contributing to these company goals:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Flip-flop between flippin’ cheesesteaks and nachos, running the register, prepping food and other kitchen duties as assigned.
Practice safe-slicing and other good kitchen habits.
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
Complete all tasks assigned by the shift leader or management.
Interact with guests in a friendly and personable way.
Operate the register accurately and efficiently.
Uses proper food safety practices at all times.
Ensure cleanliness and sanitization of dishes
Maintain stock, restock utensils, chips, napkins as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1+ years as a Cashier or Prep cook in a high-volume environment
Excellent knowledge of all required food safety practices
Excellent knowledge of guest service, and ability to keep sections organized & clean
Strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude and excellent communication/listening skills
Relevant Serve Safe certificate; food service manager certificate considered a plus
Non-slip, rubber-soled closed-toed shoes are required, as well as a hat to keep hair contained.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be eligible to work in the United States
