We’re looking for a bilingual team player who loves working hard and can manage a team in a fast-paced, high-energy catering kitchen with menus that change by the client. This role isn’t just about leading—it’s about doing. You’ll be expected to manage the team while also helping with prepping, cooking, and even dishwashing when needed. Requirements:
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to maintain high levels of stamina with a demanding schedule and workload
A valid Texas driver’s license
Experience in high-volume kitchens
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
Ability to execute recipes, manage kitchen equipment, and maintain high standards
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Food truck, restaurant, or catering experience preferred
Food handler’s certificate (or ability to obtain one)
Responsibilities:
Manage kitchen operations, including supervising and coordinating staff during shifts.
Cook a variety of dishes, including meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables, using various kitchen equipment.
Prepare dishes from scratch following recipes to ensure consistent quality and presentation.
Teach and mentor team members, sharing menu knowledge and cooking techniques.
Assist with menu planning and introduce new dishes as requested by management.
Ensure adherence to quality standards, food safety, and hygiene practices.
Oversee inventory management, including placing supply orders and maintaining food logs.
Execute opening and closing duties, such as prepping for the next day, managing inventory, and validating timekeeping records.
Perform hands-on tasks such as prepping, cooking, and dishwashing as needed.
Collaborate with management to improve kitchen operations and service delivery.
Maintain proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of dishes.
Communicate professionally and clearly with staff and management.
Perform any other reasonable task assigned by management.
Physical Requirements:
Lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
Stand for long periods and work in varying temperatures (hot and cold)
Flex, kneel, bend, and stoop as needed
