Must have solid background in and knowledge of food safety
Regulations and Standards:
Adhering to specific rules and regulations set by agencies like the FDA and USDA.
Food Safety Plans:
Developing and implementing comprehensive plans that outline procedures for identifying, preventing, and responding to potential hazards.
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP):
Utilizing systematic approaches to identify and control potential hazards at critical control points in the food production process.
Traceability:
Ensuring the ability to trace ingredients and products throughout the supply chain.
Hygiene and Sanitation:
Implementing strict hygiene protocols for employees and maintaining a clean environment to prevent contamination.
Proper Storage and Handling:
Ensuring food is stored at the correct temperatures and handled according to best practices to minimize the risk of spoilage and contamination.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of all food safety procedures, inspections, and other relevant documentation.
