Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Houston, Texas. The role involves ensuring financial data accuracy and review. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in the reconciliation of past financial statements, managing spreadsheets for financial data, and conveying financial insights to key stakeholders.Responsibilities: Manage a cleanup project involving reconciliation of past financial statements. Navigate between old and new software, ensuring a smooth transition. Develop and manage complex spreadsheets, maintaining accurate and timely financial data. Analyze and interpret summary reports, conveying findings and any significant financial insights to key stakeholders. Conduct thorough research and checks into operational software to ensure financial numbers are accurate and balanced. Collaborate directly with other team members, taking initiative as directed and needed. Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, and QuickBooks. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Maintain strong interpersonal and communication skills, working efficiently with team members.Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with General Ledger management Ability to perform Journal Entries accurately Experience with Month End Close processes Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work well in a team and independently Proven problem-solving skills Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations Experience in a similar role is an advantage.
