job summary:
We are currently seeking a full time Sr. Data Engineer/BI Specialist for the Houston, TX area! You will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day, continuous, high quality operation and development of the enterprise BI solutions. You will help shepherd the maturity of the organizational BI and data analytics capabilities. You will empower business users to find and explore data to generate insights. You will establish sustainable processes to ensure data quality, consistency, and timeliness. You will leverage standard and best practice technology that enables data reach, reusability, and supports future needs. This is a hybrid/partial remote position with a top client of ours!Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in a computer related field.
- 3 years of experience in a complex BI environment.
- 3 years of experience with Data warehousing, ETL tools, SQL and Python
- Must have a strong understanding of data
- Interest in learning everything about the BI and analytics domain.
- Desire to own a domain, impact the organization, and grow with it.
- Skilled with Tableau, Power BI, SQL, DAX, MDX, Python, SSIS, SSAS, ETL tools, data lake and warehouse design, project management, business analysis, quality assurance. Azure, AI, Celonis experience a plus.
- Must be able to function with minimal supervision.
- Looking for someone who can take the initiative; someone with prior consulting experience would be ideal (excellent customer service/communication skills, problem solver, technical acumen etc)

- Development - Full lifecycle development of BI reporting from business systems. Includes all areas from data sources to data models to visualizations. Includes all stages from requirements elicitation, design, building to testing. 25%
- Administration - Manage outsourced developers, data engineers, administrators; BI tools and licenses; system performance and data quality; storage, environments, deployments, source control. 25%
- Support - Respond to user questions and issues, investigate system abnormalities and determine root causes, manage tasks with supporting IT departments. 25%
- Training - Foster the training of Tableau, Power BI and Celonis citizen developers. 25%
