POSITION OVERVIEWApplications accepted from: ALL PERSONS INTERESTEDSection: Houston Water Planning - IDSReporting Location: 1002 Washington AveWorkdays & Hours: Monday-Friday/8:00am - 5:00pmeligible for a Hybrid-Telework scheduleSubject to changeDESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Senior Plan Analyst will review Wastewater Capacity Reservation Applications submitted by the public for new construction, remodels, additions, conversions, etc. The application process will consist of the employee researching data in a mapping system, land database management software and assessment of impact fees for customers who wish to connect to the City of Houston’s infrastructure. Directs and coordinates all revisions to Water and Wastewater projects specifically pertaining to the Wastewater Capacity Reservation Letter for Utility Analysis ensuring proper points of connection and resolving any problems. Conducts utility infrastructure data research in the City of Houston mapping system (GeoLink). Consults with technical professionals and customers to ensure a timely customer response on all projects. Prepares and maintains various reports and records. Prepares and evaluates policies and procedures, ensuring all Standard Operating procedures are developed and followed by the Utility Analysis team. Communicates electronically with customers and agencies on permit requests submitted to the Utility Analysis section. Assists with open records requests. Performs other duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS The position routinely requires stooping or bending and/or routine lifting of moderately heavy items, such as plans (up to 40 pounds). There are occasional minor discomforts from exposure to less than optimal temperature and air conditions.This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management Position at the Tier III Level.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSRequires a related Associate’s degree, such as Applied Science, Science & Mathematics, Engineering Technology, Construction, Drafting, Business or the equivalent. An associate degree in Building Inspection or the equivalent is required.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSTwo years of skilled, journey level experience in building trades, inspection or plan examining in the area of analysis to be performed are required.
