The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.The Sr. Financial Analyst, will complete regular financial analysis and reporting to support HR Operations and contingent workers business functions, to include, but not limited to strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, collecting data, metrics, and review and analyze existing processes to improve workflow and work efficiencies. Tracks operation and contingent workers encumbrances and expenditures, verifies monthly status of accounts, identifies, and resolves discrepancies, prepares monthly budget status report for review and reviews weekly contingent worker invoices. Provides follow-up on outstanding items, verifies accuracy of charges and account numbers, resolves errors, and reports problems. Monitors and analyzes financial indicators to identify trends and variances. Prepares and presents financial reports, presentations, and dashboards.Works collaboratively with leadership to manage the HR Operations and Institutional HR budget. Coordinates and prepares for the budget kick off and throughout the budget process to ensure completeness for all personnel expenses components, e.g. fringe rates, operating expenses, contingent workers, programs, etc. Analyze historical spending patterns, economic trends, and organizational goals, the People Analytics Specialist can create accurate projections for HR-related expenses and ensure alignment with overall budgetary objectives. Assist with analyzing existing processes to improve workflow and work efficiencies.Analyzes data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations to determine HR operations, Institutional HR, and contingent workers short-term and long-term financial goals with HR leaders. Ensures timely delivery of reports, analysis, projects/programs. Reviews policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. Evaluates key deliverables to ensure quality and client satisfaction. Identifies, tracks, and mitigates risk. Escalates issues when necessary to ensure minimal impact.Participates, coordinates or lead programs, projects and committees related to the strategic plan. Ensure milestones are being met across various projects and programs. Facilitates the identification, development, and implementation of broad strategies and interventions associated with accomplishing business objectives. Identifies opportunities to build upon existing and new programs. Uses sound judgment in communications and ensure the team, client and management are apprised of program/project activities.Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external clients to identify actions needed to align with the HR strategies. Assist HR leaders, managers, and others with managing their financial areas that may include, but not limited to tracking current expenditures, forecasting, financial or payroll discrepancies and more.
