Unlock your potential at HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest!Job Summary:We are seeking a Surgical-ICU (RN) for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Night Shift POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients.

Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for the Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.

Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.

Responds to Code Blue and implements life-saving measures, per ACLS protocol.

Interprets EKG rhythm strips and evaluates 12-lead EKG’

Monitors and titrates IV vasoactive, antiarrhythmic and other special drugs, as per physician order.

Assesses patients in an on-going manner, per patient acuity.

Assists physician with procedures, as needed (i.e., thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, and venous access devices).

Assumes the responsibility of charging the unit, as needed.

Care of medical or surgical critical ill patient

Care post-operative after heart surgery or neurosurgery (SICU)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1 year ICU experience Required.

Current Texas or compact state licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners.

Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.

ACLS certification within six months of hire.

CCRN certification within two years of hire preferred.

NIHSS certification within three months of hire, unless currently certified then needs to be maintained every two years.

8 hours of acute stroke education annually.

Associate Degree in Nursing Required, Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
