The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.This position will be responsible for strategic project management for the Office of Clinical Research (OCR) initiatives, and will provide administrative support to the VP and AVP. This includes working independently and under the guidance of the VP, AVP, and Director of Administration, to oversee and support the development, planning, organizing, and execution of a wide range of operational activities.JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS· Project Management - 70%o Leads the development and implementation of plans needed to carry out projects and activities for OCR. Responsible for managing multiple assignments and projects simultaneously.o Utilizes analytical skills to make data-driven recommendations to direct operational improvements. Identifies critical KPI and metrics that can be used to enhance organizational performance year over year.o Creates templates to support project management and reporting to various stakeholders. Clearly communicates constraints, conflicts, requirements, and other items that could affect outcomes.o Creates and maintains updates for VP/AVP and Director of Administration to accurately track initiatives across the division.o Prepares reports and presentations using various applications such as Power Point and Excel.o Supports and facilitates collaborations between OCR and various divisions/departments to ensure projects meet established milestones and are implemented effectively. Coordinates with project teams to ensure high quality deliverables and monitors the progress of all aspects of a project.· Executive Support - 30%o Oversees schedule conflicts and manages the schedule for Division Executives.o Oversees travel arrangements and reimbursements for Division Executives.o Manages review and submission of documents that require executive approval including prooing for correctness and maintaining database. This includes composing formal and informal correspondence.Other duties as assignedEducationRequired: Bachelor's degreePreferred: Master's degreePreferred Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP)ExperienceRequired: Five years related experience to include three years program management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
