The postdoctoral fellowship position is within the GU-GYN Physics Section of the Radiation Oncology Physics Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in AI-driven, personalized radiotherapy (RT) (external beam RT/brachytherapy), supporting a research effort in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University and UT Austin.The primary focus of this postdoctoral role is on the development and clinical translation of AI and physics-based models for RT(EBRT/brachytherapy), including his/her contributions to: On-going deep learning-driven segmentation and planning. On-going development of predictive models for EBRT and BT planning and outcomes. On-going adaptive real-time EBRT/brachytherapy planning.The candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with clinical medical physicists, radiation oncologists, and AI researchers, facilitating direct clinical implementation of the developed tools.LEARNING OBJECTIVESThe postdoc will have an opportunity to participate in and gain hands-on experience in the ongoing deep-learning-based radiation therapy project. Through the close multi-institution project, the postdoc will be mentored and supported by multi-deep learning/machine learning experts at MDACC, Johns Hopkins, and UT Austin, along with the primary project supervisor.ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSA successful candidate is recommended to have an engineering or physics background or equivalent training background with a PhD. A background or training in medical physics is not required.Research or coding experience in machine learning or deep-learning projects is highly recommended. Strong programming skills are highly valued but not required. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential.POSITION INFORMATIONMD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 (https://trainees.mdanderson.org/apply/mdaPostdoctoralFellowStipendFY24.pdf) . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
