Description We are seeking a Legal Secretary to join our team in Houston, Texas. You will be part of the legal industry, helping us manage our litigation process by performing various administrative tasks, liaising with trial teams and third parties, and assisting with case settlements. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Manage administrative duties such as calendar hearings and deadlines, and organize case files. Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties, ensuring smooth communication and operations. Assist with case settlements, providing necessary support to the litigation team. Draft, proo and file legal documents in a timely manner, ensuring they adhere to legal and company standards. Maintain communication with clients and provide necessary updates on case progress. Handle client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending out invoices. Assist attorneys in preparing for trials and court proceedings, ensuring all necessary paperwork and preparations are in order. Use specific skills such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, and CompuLaw to streamline tasks and improve efficiency. Requirements 10+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary Familiarity with billing functions within a legal context. Demonstrated ability in calendar management and organization. Proven skills in client relations and customer service. Knowledge of consumer electronics. Understanding of court proceedings and legal documentation. Experience with Electronic Medical Record and Medical Records systems. Proficiency in e-Filing and preparing petitions. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks. Strong team player but also able to work independently. Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
