Description We are in the market for a diligent and knowledgeable Healthcare Attorney, located in Houston, Texas. This role is within the healthcare industry and focuses on transactional, regulatory, and compliance matters. This is a contract position that offers the opportunity to work remotely, anywhere in the United States.Responsibilities: Develop practical guidance on topics of interest to attorneys representing healthcare providers, hospitals, health systems, and Medicare and Medicaid managed care plans and ACOs. Advise clients on a wide range of health law issues, including provider recruiting and licensing, operational issues, healthcare fraud and abuse, and Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and compliance. Draft and edit practice notes, checklists, templates, 50-state surveys, and other practical guidance materials. Conduct extensive legal research and maintain excellent writing skills. Manage assigned projects within prescribed deadlines. Accept and implement feedback on writing and make revisions accordingly. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, for various tasks. Handle legal content editing tasks such as working with bar association magazines or journals, law firm client alerts or newsletters, or other substantive legal publications. Be well-versed in the use of LexisNexis for legal research and other related tasks. Adhere to compliance functions and planning processes, ensuring all actions are in line with legal requirements. Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office Suites, and LexisNexis Adept at Compliance and Compliance Functions Familiarity with Materials Handling and Planning Processes Ability to handle Financial Notes Experience with HealthCare.gov, Surveys, Licensing, and Reimbursements Knowledge of Medicare and Legal Research Skilled at Editing, Writing Skills, and Governance Experience in drafting Memoranda and Transactional documents Ability to create and manage Templates, Publications, Magazines, and Checklists Familiarity with Newsletters and proficiency in writing Should hold a valid attorney/lawyer license Experience and knowledge in the field of law Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain client confidentiality Strong ethical and professional standards Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
