Endoscopy TechnicianLocation: MD Anderson Cancer CenterDepartment: Main Pulmonary ProceduresShift: Rotating (Starting shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)On-Call Requirements: On-call required once necessary skills have been obtainedWe are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our Endoscopy team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent and BLS certification through the American Heart Association. While prior endoscopy experience is not required, it is highly valued as a plus. As an Endoscopy Technician, you'll support a variety of essential tasks in scope reprocessing, equipment maintenance, and assisting with complex endoscopic procedures. Adhere to hospital, Joint Commission, SGNA guidelines for quality control and safety of procedures.

Participate in self-education and the education of others on job duties and process improvement efforts.

Observe policies and procedures to maintain the quality and safety of the endoscopy environment for patients, families, and staff.

Contribute to continuous monitoring and quality improvement efforts.

Assist in ensuring all dictated reports contain necessary information for submission via the electronic portal or health record.

Perform routine equipment maintenance and ensure functionality.

Maintain inventory of supplies necessary for endoscopy patient care.

Follow hospital laboratory protocols for collecting, labeling, and recording tissue specimens during all procedures.

Complete annual competency training on scope reprocessing and maintain certifications.

Endoscopy Procedures:Assist and perform tasks competently and safely during any combination of the following procedures:

Esophagoscopy, Esophagogastroduodenoscopy

Flexible sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy

Small bowel enteroscopy, PEG tube placements and replacements

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)

Endoscopic ultrasonography, Fine needle aspiration

Cryoablation, BarrX Therapy, Endoscopic Mucosal Resection

Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection

CellVizio, Argon plasma coagulation

Dilation/Dilatation, Single/Double Balloon Technique

Stenting, Travel Cases with mobile cart

EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.ExperienceOne year of endoscopy experience or two years healthcare experience.
