Description We are seeking a Dual (SQL and Oracle) Database Administrator to join our team in Houston, Texas. The role involves ensuring the availability, security, support, and integrity of our database platforms, with a focus on SQL and Oracle databases. The Database Administrator will provide support to our operating units and utilize various management tools.Responsibilities: Ensure the successful completion of off-site sync and database scheduled jobs Address blocking, deadlocking, log shipping, connectivity, and security issues as they arise Utilize Enterprise Manager (13c) or queries to monitor database health and performance, making recommendations as necessary Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server systems in non-clustered and clustered configurations Regularly update on assigned tickets and maintain open lines of communication both within and outside the team Participate in on-call rotation as required Maintain comprehensive database documentation and uphold standards Undertake project work as directed by the Database Systems Manager Perform daily tasks, such as verifying daily backups and resolving related issues, reviewing database alert log errors, and managing space usage Maintain the integrity of Oracle and SQL databases, including database server design, architecture, implementation, database tuning, reporting services, and security.Requirements Proficient knowledge of Oracle Database 19c is essential. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is required. Must demonstrate competency in SQL Database. Familiarity with Azure SQL Database is necessary.
