Studio Z Art & Design School is a private school located in the Southwest of Houston, dedicated to enhancing art appreciation and talent for children and adults. We offer a selection of 2D and 3D courses, promoting students to participate in local and national exhibitions and contests, and helping advanced students develop portfolios for college applications. We are currently looking for a ceramics/sculpture teacher with a passion for education. This is a part-time job, starting in Fall 2025.
Position Summary:
Developing and implementing curricula for students from beginner to advanced levels.
Preparing for class, demonstrating techniques, teaching working habits, cultivating aesthetics, and managing firing schedules for ceramic works. Knowing how to operate a kiln is a plus, but not necessary.
Instructing teen students to create advanced work for the national visual art competition.
Keeping the classroom organized and clean.
Establishing and maintaining a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, and colleagues.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Ceramics, Sculpture, or similar professional qualification.
Teaching at the elementary, middle, or high school level is a plus.
Attendance and Teaching Schedule:
Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
Must be available during WEEKENDS.
Student Age group: age 5 & up, and adults.
Hourly Wage: $30 +/hr, or DOE

Sculpture and ceramics(clay, wire, etc.) Please share if you know about operating a kiln.
